A Not so Big Bad Biker

“There is nothing I regret more than my tattoos… if I could go back in time I would have never gotten any.” At first glance Oscar Martinez is everything a big bad biker is, he rides a Harley and wears big leather boots with a leather jacket and has big beard and is ALWAYS wearing black sunglasses. To me he's just my silly uncle Oscar who has some seriously scary looking tattoos. Today I finally got to know the meanings behind them.
His tattoo as a whole has a very negative meaning, his right arm is used to represent all the negative/evil he has gone through while his left arm is used to symbolize the positive/ good in his life. The tattoo has a lot of skeletons and he uses that to show that everything eventually dies, the smoker is being killed by the Aztec Indian to show that power is not always a good thing, and the gypsy is used to show that fate is always going to bring you something big and beautiful, but that beautiful thing isn't always a good thing, and the skeleton praying is to show that sometimes it is too late to ask for forgiveness.
I always thought that this specific tattoo he got just to get he has so many others that he got for no reason at all, but this piece has so much meaning behind it, it is hard to see why some one would regret it so much.
When I asked my uncle why he regretted his tattoos so much he told me that for so many years he was looked down upon, and discriminated against, and that there was so many limitations that he wishes he would have listened to what everyone said and that now he's the stereo typical Mexican that has been to jail and has tattoos and can't really get a good job. he faced so many challenges because he was young and stupid. He played into what media wanted him too he saw tattoos on t.v. and got them because they were cool.

The evil

The good
